NewsJANE COUCH M.B.E.Jane Couch, five times World title winner, successful promoter of 21 professional boxing shows in Bristol, the most popular being at The Marriott Hotel, is now enlarging her boxing world profile and applying for a B.B.B. of C. manager’s licence. Jane’s former manager and coach, Tex Woodward, owner of Spaniorum Farm Gym, says, “I will be really pleased to see Jane succeed as a manager as well as she has as a boxer and promoter. The ‘farm’ gym is well known, very well equipped and has been used by many top professional fighters, with Lennox Lewis and Frank Bruno among them. It would be great if Jane could attract boxers to follow in these famous footsteps. While Jane will be responsible for managing any of her new signings, male or female, I will be available for coaching and training”. Jane has already attracted interest from would be signings. She can be contacted on 0752842902 or Janecouch@btinternet.com MARTIN ROBINS v MATT SEAWRIGHT BRISTOL MARRIOTT HOTEL 4th OCTOBER Jane Couch M.B.E.‘s latest boxing promotion at The Marriott Hotel, was possibly the most entertaining of her 21 shows. Local boxer Martin Robins, trained and managed by Tex Woodward, kept his unbeaten record, with a points win over six rounds against Matt Seawright. Matt, an experienced journeyman, used all the defensive tactics he knew with periodic counter attacks, one of which caused Robins to slip (but was scored as a knockdown by referee Rhys Carter) otherwise, edged all the rounds with better skills and cleaner punches.
