SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL!

Jane Couch M.B.E. reassumes her role as a boxing promoter with an evening of entertainment at The Marriott Hotel on Saturday 15th of September, starting at 7pm for 7-30pm with a meal that will undoubtedly meet the Marriott’s usual high standard.

After the meal there will be a Raffle and also an Auction of ‘Sporting Memorabilia’.

The three bout boxing bill will be topped by potential local star Danny Butler in his first 6 x 3 min. rounds match against tough Latvian opponent Gatis Skuja.

Unbeaten in seven professional contests Danny will be seeking to round the number off to eight wins, but informed critics are suggesting Skuja is a step-up too soon for the Bristol teenager.

Manager and coach, Tex Woodward, is more optimistic. “Danny has the skills to win, and as long as he performs on the night as he does in the gym it will be a clear, if not comfortable, victory for him.

The main supporting bout will be between unbeaten Welshman Phillip Douse and Birmingham’s Carl Drake. Fit, hard-hitting Douse will be expecting to improve his record with at least a points win.

The third fight will be announced later.

BOXERS WANTED

Male and female boxers, amateurs or professionals, are offered free training and coaching, if they can show the commitment and potential to become competent competitors.

Professional boxers under contract to other managers or trainees are welcome to use the facilities, but only with written permission from their managers.

Foreign boxers can not be helped unless they have established accommodation and employment in the U.K.
